Sino-German Dialogue – Women, Career, and Family
As part of the series of events celebrating the 117th anniversary of the founding of Tongji University, the Sino-German Campus and the German Department at Tongji University hosted together a Sino- German dialogue salon on May 11, 2024, focusing on women, careers and families.
Representing the German Centre Shanghai, Ms. Lena Lan, Senior Manager of the Marketing & Communication Department and a working mother, along with three other female guests—Ms. Julia Wangler, CFO of the Würth Group; Dr. Annemarie Holleczek, Senior Vice President of Networks at the UAES joint venture with Bosch; and Dr. Li Chen from the German Department at Shanghai International Studies University—engaged in a lively yet insightful discussion with female students from Tongji and Shanghai International Studies University. They explored how women balance academics, career, and family within the working context of Chinese and German cultures.
The German Centre Shanghai is committed to hosting and participating in such exchanges to foster economic and cultural understanding between China and Germany.
