German Election Party 2017

The German Centre Shanghai and the German Chamber of Foreign Trade jointly organized a celebration for the federal election on September 24, 2017. Highlights of the day included a performance by the German a cappella band “QuintEssenz” from Bamberg, a performance of the European and German anthem by the orchestra of the German School Hongqiao and a speech by the German Consul General Dr. Althauser.

On Sunday, of course, entertainment for the entire family was a must. The little ones could let off steam on the bouncy castle and play games. You could also find the whole of Germany in the food, so there was herring from the north, Thuringian sausages, schnitzel, kebabs, currywurst and other German delicacies.

Even though not all of the approximately 250 guests stayed until 1 a.m. to witness the first projections, they were pleased to be able to celebrate the German federal election and the events in their distant homeland together in Shanghai.
