A dialogue with German summer school delegation
At the invitation of German Consul Uwe Koch, the German Centre Shanghai recently participated in an exclusive event with over 100 students from the largest German summer school delegation to China. The group, composed of future leaders in engineering and economics, engaged in a wide-ranging dialogue on Sino-German cooperation.
Peter Hergemöller 贺彼德, Head of Marketing & Communication, shared his experiences of working in China and highlighted the role of the German Centre Shanghai in fostering Sino-German economic cooperation. The students posed critical and insightful questions, demonstrating their keen interest in China’s economic landscape and its potential for international collaboration.
The event was also attended by CDHAW Industry Steering Committee members and CDHAW alumni, including Dr.-Ing. Thomas Dorn, ADHETEC, Leif Brakhuis, HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH, Prof. Dr. Martin Schuster, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, Michael Dorn, Kammy Kwang, Kienbaum, Mesut Ormankiran, ZF Group, Arne Goetz (顾安茨), Voith Group, and others, who contributed to in-depth discussions on the future of Sino-German relations and shared information about their companies and experiences working in China. The participants stayed long after the scheduled end time, continuing the dialogue well into the evening.

The German Centre Shanghai’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to promoting economic exchange and knowledge-sharing between Germany and China, particularly among the next generation of global professionals.
