100 Future Talents from Germany visit GC Shanghai
百闻不如一见 (bǎi wén bù rú yī jiàn), which translates to “Seeing once is better than hearing a hundred times,” perfectly captures the essence of our recent experience.
We were absolutely delighted to host 100 future talents from across Germany at the German Centre Shanghai. These bright students, all deeply interested in China and the dynamics of Sino-German cooperation, brought with them a palpable enthusiasm that filled our halls with energy and curiosity.
Their visit was part of the CDHAW Tongji University Summer School 2024, an initiative that plays a crucial role in fostering cross-cultural understanding and academic exchange between China and Germany. This program was organized with exceptional dedication by Oliver Schirmer 欧力, Vice Director of CDHAW at Tongji University and his colleague Guzalnur Alim.
As the saying goes, 千里之行,始于足下 (qiān lǐ zhī xíng, shǐ yú zú xià)—“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” For these students, their journey of exploring China and contributing to Sino-German relations has just begun.
Seeing these young minds so eager to learn and engage with China firsthand is a testament to the importance of such exchanges.
